This framed A4 size Santhal painting depicts Tusu is a famous harvest festival celebrated by the Santhal community on Makar Sankranti. It is performed during the winter (in mid-December to mid-January) and dedicated to the ‘Folk Goddess - Tusu’. The worshippers pray to the goddess for overwhelming wealth and happiness of their household. The festival is mainly about the collection of songs sung by the unmarried girls during the nights, throughout the month of Poush.

Art History - Santhal Art is a notable art form, coming from the tribal villages of West Bengal. These scrolls were visual accompaniments to stories told through songs and ballads.
