They are very colorful with intricate patterns and varied folk styles. When you pull the larger doll apart, another doll is inside. Pull that one apart and another one can be found and so on until the tiniest of the tiny dolls remains. The traditional dolls will look fabulous dotted individually around the house or stood in a row along the mantelpiece.

This handcrafted product is made by artisans of Channapatna Woodcraft. Channapatna town of Karnataka is the main production centre for lacquered wooden toys and other utility items. It flourished under the royal patronage of Tipu Sultan, Ruler of Mysore in the 18th century. Toys are the signature craft product of this area, made from the close-grained hale wood. The use of vegetable-dyed lacquer makes it eco-friendly and safe for children.
