60 Pcs puzzle in Mysore Style Painting

This 60 pieces puzzle in Mysore Style painting comes with a picture card and spreads out to a bright 40cm X 30cm painting when completed.

This 60 pieces puzzle is a pictorial representation of the Lord Krishna protecting his devotees. The God of thunder and lightning, INDRA was angered when the villagers of Vrindavan stopped worshipping him. Enraged, he cast a violent storm upon Vrindavan. Krishna, the protector of the cowherd villagers, lifted the Govardhan mountain and held it aloft on his little finger. The entire village of Vrindavan, its people and their livestock, were sheltered thus as the storm raged unabated for 7 days.

Mysore Painting is a form of classical South Indian painting, which evolved in the Mysore city of Karnataka. It came being under the patronage of Wodeyars (1399-1947), specifically Raja Wodeyar (1578-1617), back during 17th and 18th century. The main themes of Mysore paintings are typically that of Hindu God, Goddesses, and the pictographic representations of the scenes from the prodigious epics of Mahabharata, Ramayana, and Bhagavta Purana. These paintings are famous for their elegance, peculiar usage of colors and the stress on detailing.
