Beautifully handcrafted "Tortoise" a tribal art work from bell metal. An excellent Decorative work of Dhokra handicraft .Its ethnic design vibrant and distinct styles and pattern add a grace to place where ever it is kept.Based on the ancient Dhokra art form. Dhokra is a form of metal casting practiced by the Dhokra community found in Bastar, Odisha and West Bengal. It can be traced back to 4000 years ago when the famous 'dancing tribal girl' of Mohenjo -daro was discovered. Its a laborious technique that requires making molds, drying them, fashioning artifacts using beeswax and melting metal for the final products.
