Mashru Silk Tie with Mashru Silk Pocket Square (With Hand Block Ajrakh Print).
The set includes one necktie and one pocket square made of Mashru fabric which is a vibrant, handwoven mix of Silk and Cotton textiles. The word ‘Mashru’ means ‘permitted’ in Arabic and its Sanskrit variation ‘Misru’ means ‘mixed’. Mashru silk has the appearance of glistening silk that conceals the soothing feel of cotton. Mashru has a characteristic fine satin finish, bright contrasting stripes in vibrant colors and striped Ikat weave. The fabric is mainly manufactured in Patan and Mandvi in Gujarat, India.
The set of neck tie and pocket square features a magnificent Indic themed Ajrakh print that is beautiful and pure. Ajrak is a block-printed textile that is resist-dyed using natural dyes. including indigo and madder. It is made in Kutch, Gujarat and is distinguished by its color- blue with red — and its complex geometric & floral patterns. It’s name is derived from ‘azarak’, ‘blue’ in Arabic & Persian. Ajrak is a legacy of text. It takes skill & patience to make Ajrak.
