Singh is a distinguished scholar of philosophy, a prolific writer and much sought-after participant at reputed national and international conferences and seminars on various facets of Indian philosophy. After superannuating as professor of philosophy from Magadh University, Bodh Gaya, he became a Senior Fellow of the Indian Council of Philosophical Research, Govt of India, a Fellow of Indian Institute of Advanced Studies, Shimla, a visiting Research professor at the Catholic University of America, Washington DC and General President of Indian Philosophical Congress. His speaking engagements took him to Soubourn University, Paris, Nihon and Toyo University, Tokyo and Khon Kaen University Thailand. Known for his seminal work, he was invited to present papers at World Philosophical Congress, International Congress of Orientalists, Mexico City, World Sanskrit Congress, Lieden Holland, Doha (Qatar) and universities in Shanghai, Xi'an and Beijing in China. Prof Singh has written several books and guided many research scholars in obtaining Ph.D. degrees. Apart from being a formidable academic, he is also a social activist and a mendicant in pursuit of truth and salvation.
