The First Volume majorly deals with the Problems and Prospects issues in education. This volume includes 20 research papers devided in three major sections, “Quality Concerns”, “School Education” and “Higher Education”. The Second Volume on Inputs and Initiatives includes 25 research papers broadly devided in four sections namely, “Open and Distance Larning”, “Teacher Education Inputs”, “Information and Communication Technology Intervention” and Perspectives of Human Values” These Volumes will be helpful to the students of higher education and teacher education as well as teachers, researchers, experts, policy makers and development administrators working for quality education. About Author : P.K. Sahoo is Professor & Head in the Department of Education, University of Allhabad, Allahabad. He was also the Director of the Institute of Correspondence and Continuing Education, University of Allahabad and Director Academic and Professor of Education at Kota Open University, Kota, Rajasthan. Born in Orissa Prof. Sahoo studied in the M.S. University of Baroda, for his doctoral degree in Education. He has owned the distinction of UGC Visiting Associate 1997-99, AAOU UNESCO PROP AWARD, 1998, University Medal for Ist Rank in MA Examination and UGC Research Fellowship, CASE, M.S. University of Baroda, Vadodara. To his credit Prof. Sahoo has authored three books viz. Educational Technology in Distance Education (1999), Open Learning System (1994) Higher Education At-a-Distance (1993) and co-authored two books viz-Futurology in Education (1989) and Futures Studies (1991). His areas of interest are open & Distance Education, Futuristic Education, Educational Development and Technology. Prof. Sahoo has published around 200 Research Papers in national and international journals and books. He has presented around 250 Research Papers in Seminars, Conferences and Consultations in India and abroad. He was the President of Indian Association of Teacher Educators and continuing as the Senior Vice President of this organization. He is also the member of NCTE-DEC Joint Committee. Dhananjai Yadav is Reader in Education, Department of Education, University of Allahabad, Allahabad. Born in UP Dr. Yadav studied in University of Allahabad for his doctoral degree in Education. He has owned the distinction of being UGC Research Fellow in the University of Allahabad for his doctoral research. His areas of Interest are ICT in Education, Educational Technology and Concept Analysis. He has published a book on Philosophy of Wittgenstein. He has published several research papers in national and international journals and books. He has presented around 150 Research Papers in Seminars, Conferences and Consultations in India and abroad. B.C. Das is Lecturer in Education in the Department of Teacher Education, Rani Bhagyawati Devi Women's PG College, Bijnor under M.J.P. Rohilkhand University, Bareilly, UP, India. He is also the Programme In-charge of IGNOU B. Ed Programme at IGNOU PSC 27143P, Bijnor. Born in Orissa, Dr. Das studied in the University of Allahabad for doctoral degree in Education. He has owned the distinction of being a Research Fellow of Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Govt. of India at his doctoral stage of research. To his credit Dr. Das has published several research papers in reputed journals and books of India and abroad. He has presented around 100 Research Papers in Seminars, Conferences and Consultations at national and international level. His areas of interest are Tribal Education, Educational Development and Technology. He has authored a book titled TRIBAL EDUCATION Trends and Future Scenario. His other research works entitled Education of Tribal Children (Case Studies of Primary Schools) and Intervention in Tribal Education are under publication.
