-:ABOUT THE BOOK:-
‘Discovery’ and Bharat is the story of the drafting of our constitution. Told convincingly, Discovery takes a quantum leap in our understanding of the Constitution itself, as much as of its making. It asks certain fundamental questions—Who are we? Was India a newly born nation post-Independence? Or was it a wounded civilisation reclaiming her rightful place in history? And where does the Indian Constitution fit into all this?
‘Discovery’ and Bharat argues that the Indian Constitution is highly influenced by the Constitutions of Western countries, mostly from Christendom. In the process, inadvertently or otherwise, we have been significantly influenced by Christian values and its morals. Crucially, we have juxtaposed all these on an unsuspecting Hindu nation. This in turn has pitted the Indian State against the Indian society, with the judiciary, executive and parliament torn between constitutional law and civilisational ethos.
This book therefore makes an impassionate plea for revisiting the Constitution and setting right the skew in our public order. A must-read for people in power and politics.

Venkatesh has made an excellent case for revisiting, rethinking and re-writing our Constitution.
—Dr Subramanian Swamy, Former Member of Parliament
This is a much-needed book that will hopefully be read and absorbed by a wide cross-section of Bharatiyas—including those who think of themselves as Indians alone.
—Prasenjit Basu, Economist and Author of Asia Reborn
Hopefully this book will enable a debate on our constitution and our governance model and create a more democratic future for all of us.
—TV Mohandas Pai, Chairman, Aarin Capital Partners
Fascinatingly, MRV brings about the subtle yet significant difference between being a Republic and a Democracy—in our context. That adds a new dimension in our understanding of our Constitution and makes the book an interesting read.
—Prof R. Vaidyanathan, IIM-Bangalore
A must-read.
—Justice PN Prakash, Former Judge, Madras High Court
There is no doubt that this book will become a landmark in the original studies now taking place in New Bharat about Bharat, by the young writers and researchers inspired by this renaissance of Bharat.
