About the Book : This book is the history of the culture and civilization, places and historical buildings belonging to the Mewat region with architectural details and political history. This work deals with the political, cultural and archaeological history of Mewat region including the history of the Mewat region and its inhabitants, the Meos, from the very beginning of their settlement in India and their migration to the Mewat region. This book also deals with history of Mewat under Yaduvanshi Khanzada rule from the time of the earliest invasion of the Iltutmish and Balban covering the Tughlaqs, Sayyids and Lodis to the British period in modern times. This is perhaps the first attempt to cover the forgotten region in the light of the original and oral sources. For the learners, researchers and to the students of history and archaeology, this work is very beneficial for the references and general knowledge. This book is illustrated with black and white photographs for the better understanding of the Mewat region. About Author : Aijaz Ahmad was born to Chaudhary Shafaat Mohammad and Mrs. Hameeda Khatoon on August 16, 1969, at Motipur village in the Sant Kabir Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh. After completing his early education in Motipur, Santha, and Basti, he joined Aligarh Muslim University in 1985 and completed his B.A. (Hons), M.A., and M.Phil. in History. In 1994, he was appointed as a lecturer in history at YMD College Nuh, affiliated to Gurugram University, Gurugram. As a teacher candidate, he obtained the Ph.D. degree from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi in Modern Indian History, in 2000. During his service career, he has published 16 research papers in many national and international journals. He has published eleven books.
