About the Book : The book reports an empirical study of a relationship between maternal employment and personality development of children of employed an unemployed mothers. It also examines the similarities and differences in the disciplinary practices used by the employed mothers and full time housewives. The personality patterns of children are discussed in the light of micro as well as macro variables. Levels of marital adjustment in case of employed and unemployed mothers and experiences of employed mothers at home and at workplace are also explored. The book is of interest to the researchers and students of psychology, sociology, child development, family studies and professionals interested in related fields.
About the Author : The author has a Master degree in Psychology from Jodhpur University and Ph. D. from Barkatullah University, Bhopal. She is presently working as a faculty at the PSS Central Institute of Vocational Education (NCERT), Bhopal an apex R & D organisation in the area of vocational education in India. Her papers have appeared in Indian Educational Review, Psychological studies and Indian Journal of Clinical Psychology. She is number of National Academy of Psychology (India) and Indian Society of Vocational Education. Currently she is directing a research project on the status of vocational guidance in India. She has prepared resource material for teachers training programme in vocational guidance and counselling and also to facilitate vocational orientation in pupils. Her areas of interest include socialization and parenting, guidance and counseling, development of skills and students motivation.
