Shri Ananda Teertha, widely known as Madhvacharya (c. 1238–1317 CE), was a preeminent Indian philosopher and the founder of the Dvaita (dualism) school of Vedanta. Born in Pajaka, Karnataka, he became a sanyasi and authored 37 works, collectively known as the Sarvamula, which form the core texts of Dvaita philosophy. His works include commentaries on the Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, and Brahma Sutras, alongside independent treatises on epistemology and metaphysics, and devotional hymns. Shri Ananda Teertha's `उपाधिखण्डनम्: Upadhi Khandanam` is a philosophical treatise, and his monumental `भागवततात्पर्यनिर्णय: Bhagavata Tatparya Nirnaya` is a multi-volume interpretation of the Bhagavata Purana, reinterpreting it through the lens of Dvaita Vedanta.
