चम्पू कृष्ण शास्त्री (Champu Krishna Shastri)

Chamu Krishna Shastry is a distinguished Indian educationist and a pivotal figure in the contemporary movement to revitalize Sanskrit as a spoken language. As a co-founder of Samskrita Bharati, he champions innovative pedagogical methods, including the popular ten-day spoken Sanskrit camps, which have trained millions in conversational Sanskrit. A graduate of Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha, Tirupati, he launched the 'Speak Samskrit' movement in 1981. The Government of India recognized his profound contributions to literature and education with the Padma Shri award in 2017. His works, including `संस्कृतभारती` (Samskrit Bharati) and `परिवर्तनम्` (Parivartanam), serve as ideal resources for Sanskrit reading and practice, embodying his dedication to making the ancient language accessible.
