Zahurul Hassan Sharib

Zahurul Hassan Sharib (1914–1996), also known as Gudri Shah Baba IV, was born in Moradabad and earned a doctorate in Political Science before turning to Sufism. He became a disciple of the Gudri Shahi Order, and in 1971, following the passing of his spiritual guide, he succeeded as head of that order in Ajmer. A prolific writer in Urdu, English, Dutch, and Italian, he authored The Sufi Saints of the Indian Subcontinent, published by Munshiram Manoharlal, which presents biographical sketches of the major Sufi mystics of the Indian subcontinent.
