Vishwanath Prasad Tiwari (b. 1940) is a distinguished Indian poet, editor, and critic, and a former president of the Sahitya Akademi (2013-2018). He has authored approximately 50 books in Hindi, spanning various genres including criticism, poetry, travelogues, biographies, and interviews, in addition to editing numerous literary works. Tiwari also served as a professor and head of the Hindi Department at Gorakhpur University until his retirement in 2001 and edits Dastavez, a literary quarterly journal. His works include editing volumes of Indian Literature for Sahitya Akademi and compiling classical Hindi literature such as "रसलीन ग्रंथावली (Rasleen Granthavali)" and "हिंदी भाषा और साहित्य (Hindi Language and Literature)". He has received several honors, including the Vyas Samman and Pushkin Award.
