Vishwanath is the head of Rajpal and Sons, one of India's most celebrated Hindi publishing houses, and a figure central to the Indian paperback revolution. Twice elected President of the Federation of Indian Publishers, and fluent in Hindi, English, Urdu, Sanskrit, and Punjabi, he turned to English verse late in life and published Musings in 2012, a collection in which he interrogates questions of existence and meaning through lyrical prose and poetry.
