Vishva Bandhu Shastri (1897–1973) was a renowned Vedic scholar and Indologist who dedicated his life to the critical study and publication of Vedic texts. As the founder and director of the Vishveshvaranand Vedic Research Institute in Hoshiarpur, he initiated the monumental Vedic Word-Concordance (Vaidika-Padānukrama-Koṣa). His editorial works include multi-volume critical editions of the Rigveda with multiple classical commentaries and the Atharvaveda (Śaunaka) with Sāyaṇa's commentary.
