Vishnu Prabhakar (1912–2009) was a celebrated Hindi writer, novelist, playwright, and journalist. His extensive body of work includes short stories, novels, plays, travelogues, and poetry, often imbued with themes of patriotism, nationalism, and social upliftment. Among his most acclaimed works is the Sahitya Akademi Award-winning Hindi novel Ardha Narishwara. Prabhakar was honored with the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1993, the Mahapandit Rahul Sankrityayan Award in 1995, and the Padma Bhushan in 2004 by the Government of India. He also authored children's literature, such as Saral Panchatantra (Part-1).
