Vidya Niwas Mishra

Vidya Niwas Mishra (1926–2005) was an eminent Indian scholar, Hindi writer, and journalist. He served as the editor-in-chief of Navbharat Times and was a prominent figure in Hindi literature, known for his essays, literary criticism, and work on linguistics. He received numerous accolades, including the Padma Bhushan from the Government of India in 1999. Mishra’s academic career included serving as Vice-Chancellor of Sampurnanand Sanskrit University. His work हिन्दी की जनपदीय कविता (Janapadiya Kavita of Hindu) explores the rich tradition of regional poetry in Hindi.
