Vandana Kanoria investigates the goddess Varahi across Hindu and Buddhist tantric traditions, documenting how this sow-headed deity — originally one of the seven mother goddesses — grew into a significant independent goddess in Hindu Tantra, then transformed into Vajravarahi as Buddhist traditions spread from India to Tibet and East Asia.
