Vaidya Bhagwan Dash (1934–2015) was a highly esteemed Indian Ayurvedic physician, scholar, researcher, and prolific author known for his significant contributions to the preservation and global promotion of Ayurveda and Tibetan medicine. He earned degrees in Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery, Higher Proficiency in Ayurveda, an MA in Sanskrit, a PhD in Tibetan Medicine, and an honorary Doctor of Science. Vaidya Dash served in key roles within India's Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and was a consultant for the WHO and SEARO, maintaining a private clinical practice in Delhi. He authored over a dozen major works, including comprehensive English translations of foundational Ayurvedic treatises. Co-authored with Lalitest Kashyap, their multi-volume series, all based on Todarananda's Ayurveda Saukhyam, covers essential aspects of Ayurveda, including "Basic Principles of Ayurveda," "Iatro-Chemistry of Ayurveda: Rasa Sastra," "Five Specialised Therapies of Ayurveda: Panca-Karma," and "Materia Medica of Ayurveda," providing a detailed exploration of the ancient healing system.
