Vaidya Bhagwan Dash (1934–2015) was an eminent Indian Ayurvedic physician, scholar, researcher, and author, recognized for his significant contributions to Ayurveda and Tibetan medicine. He held a Degree in Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery, a Master's in Sanskrit, and a PhD in Tibetan Medicine from Delhi University, and was awarded an honorary Doctor of Science from Utkal University. Dash served in key roles within India's Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and was a prolific author, with many of his works, including multi-volume editions and translations of foundational Ayurvedic treatises like the Charaka Samhita, translated into multiple languages. His books include "Fundamentals of Ayurvedic Medicine," "MASSAGE THERAPY IN AYURVEDA," and "Materia Medica of Tibetan Medicine," the latter being an authoritative reference on the subject.
