Vachaspati Misra (c. 9th-10th century CE) was a distinguished Indian philosopher who made significant contributions to various schools of Hindu philosophy, including Nyaya, Samkhya, Yoga, Mimamsa, and Vedanta. He is particularly renowned for his commentary on Shankara's Brahma Sutra Bhashya, titled भामती (Bhamati), which is a seminal work in the Advaita Vedanta tradition and gave rise to the Bhamati school of Advaita.
