Uma Krishnaswami

Uma Krishnaswami was born in New Delhi and has written picture books, chapter books, early readers, and novels for young readers for over twenty-five years. Her books have been translated into eleven languages, and she was nominated for the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award in 2020 and 2021. She served on the faculty of the MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults at Vermont College of Fine Arts, and is now faculty emerita. Out of the Way! Out of the Way! was first published in India by Tulika Publishers.
