Tryambakaraya Makhin was a minister and renowned scholar in the court of the Thanjavur Maratha king Serfoji I in the early 18th century. He was a polymath with deep knowledge of various shastras. His most famous work is धर्माकूतम् (Dharmakutam), an encyclopedic Sanskrit commentary on the Ramayana. The commentary is highly regarded for its detailed examination of the epic's deeper meanings and its discussions of Dharma, providing insights into the ethical and philosophical dimensions of Valmiki's text.
