Dr. Tariq Khan is a Lecturer-cum-Junior Research Officer at the Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL), Ministry of Education, Government of India, and holds a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics from the University of Hyderabad. His research spans psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, writing systems, humour studies, translation studies, and intercultural pragmatics. He is actively involved with the National Translation Mission, an initiative to provide higher education textbooks in 22 scheduled Indian languages. Dr. Khan has edited and authored numerous publications, including multiple volumes of 'Translation Today,' 'Queries in the Structure of Language,' and 'Trends in Applied Linguistics and Language in Use,' reflecting his expertise in translation and linguistics.
