Swami Saradananda (1865–1927) was one of the direct monastic disciples of Sri Ramakrishna and served as the first Secretary of the Ramakrishna Math and Mission. He edited the Bengali journal Udbodhan and is best known for his five-volume Bengali biography of Sri Ramakrishna. His Bengali work Bharate Shaktipuja (ভারতে শক্তিপূজা) examines the tradition of Shakti worship across India, published by Udbodhan Karyalaya, Kolkata.
