Swami Niranjanananda Saraswati, born in Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh, in 1960, is a prominent yoga guru and spiritual leader, and the successor to Swami Satyananda Saraswati, founder of Satyananda Yoga. Initiated into Dashnami sannyasa at age ten, he spent eleven years abroad propagating yoga in Europe, Australia, and the Americas, gaining an understanding of various cultures. He returned to India in 1983 to guide the Bihar School of Yoga, established Bihar Yoga Bharati as the first university of yoga in 1994, and founded the Yoga Publications Trust in 2000. Swami Niranjanananda has authored over 20 books on yoga, tantra, and the Upanishads, including Dharana Darshan, Yoga Chakra- The Wheel of Yoga, and Tantra Darshan. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan, India's third-highest civilian award, in 2017 for his distinguished service in yoga.
