Swami Lakshmanjoo

Swami Lakshmanjoo (1907–1991) was a preeminent scholar-saint and master of the Trika school of Kashmir Shaivism. Born in Srinagar, he was the last in the direct lineage of the tradition's great masters and dedicated his life to the study and experiential practice of its philosophy. He established the Ishwar Ashram Trust to preserve and disseminate this knowledge, teaching both Indian and Western disciples. His lectures, translated and published in English, made the esoteric teachings accessible to a global audience. His major works include "Kashmir Shaivism: The Secret Supreme," and detailed expositions of key texts like the "Spanda Kārikā" and the "Vijñāna Bhairava Tantra."
