Sushil Kumar De

Sushil Kumar De (1890–1968) was a distinguished Bengali scholar of Sanskrit and Bengali literature. Educated at Calcutta University and the University of London, he was a professor at both Dhaka University, where he headed the Sanskrit and Bengali departments, and Jadavpur University. A prolific author and editor, he wrote extensively on Sanskrit poetics, philosophy, and literary history. His major works include History of Sanskrit Poetics and Bengali Literature in the Nineteenth Century. He also edited the Udyoga Parva and Drona Parva volumes for the critical edition of the Mahabharata.
