Sukirtharani

Sukirtharani writes in Tamil on the intersecting experiences of caste and gender, drawing on her lived experience as a Dalit woman and her years as a Tamil teacher at a government school in Ranipet District. Her poetry collections — including சுகிர்தராணி கவிதைகள்: 1996-2016 (Sukirtaraani Kavitaikal), காமத்திப்பூ (Kaamattippuu), and அவளை மொழிபெயர்த்தல் (Avalai Mozipeyarttal) — have been translated into English, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, and German. She has received the Thevamagal Kavithoovi Award, the Puthumaipitthan Memorial Award, and the Women's Achiever Award from the Pengal Munnani.
