Sujit Mukherjee

Sujit Mukherjee (born 1930) was a scholar who spent more than twenty-five years writing and teaching on Indian literature and served as Chief Publisher at Orient Longman from 1970 to 1986. His A Dictionary of Indian Literature One: Beginnings – 1850 (Orient Longman, 1999) surveys authors and texts in Sanskrit, Tamil, Pali, Prakrit, and fourteen modern Indian languages from the earliest compositions to works and writers born before 1850.
