Sujit Kumar Mukhopadhyaya

Sujit Kumar Mukhopadhyaya, a scholar affiliated with Visva-Bharati, produced a critical edition of the Asokavadana, collating the Sanskrit text against its oldest Chinese version and providing notes and partial English translation. Published by Sahitya Akademi, Delhi, this edition continued his established practice of editing Sanskrit texts in comparison with their Chinese and Tibetan parallels.
