Adi Shankara (c. 8th century CE), also known as Shankara Bhagavatpada, was a foundational Indian philosopher and theologian who systematized the Advaita Vedanta school of thought. Revered for his profound commentaries on Vedic scriptures and his original philosophical works, he also composed numerous devotional hymns. श्रीशङ्करभगवत्पादाचार्यकृतिः शिवानन्दलहरी (Sri Shankara Bhagavatpadacharya's Work Shivananda Lahari) is one of his renowned devotional compositions dedicated to Shiva, here presented with a grammatical explanation by Jyotishmati.
