Sir Lal Gopal Mukerji and Bankey Behari translated a selection of verses from Bhartrhari — the classical Sanskrit poet-philosopher whose Satakatrayam spans themes of love, ethics, and renunciation — into English. Songs from Bhartrhari was published by Gita Press, Gorakhpur, and first appeared in the early 1940s.
