Sharath Komarraju writes literary fiction in English, with a particular focus on mythological retellings. The Queens of Hastinapur, published by HarperCollins India in 2017, is the third book in his Hastinapur series, narrating the Mahabharata through the voices of Ganga, Madri, Pritha, and Gandhari — women whose choices propel the epic toward its fateful war. His debut novel, Murder in Amaravati, was longlisted for the Commonwealth Book Prize in 2013.
