Shantaram Athavale

Shantaram Govind Athavale (1910–1975) was a pioneering figure in Marathi film and literature who emerged from the Prabhat Film Company in Pune in the 1930s. He wrote 300 film songs, directed six films, and authored ten books on philosophy, Indian culture, the Dnyaneshwari, astrology, and Kundalini. His book कुंडलिनी जगदंबा (Kundalini Jagdamba) reflects the depth of his study of the Shakta spiritual tradition.
