Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jilani (c. 1077–1166 CE) was a Persian Sunni Hanbali scholar, preacher, and revered Sufi saint based in Baghdad. Born in the district of Jilan, Iran, he moved to Baghdad at eighteen to study, where he mastered Islamic jurisprudence, hadith, and literature. After years of ascetic seclusion, he emerged as a powerful preacher and teacher. He is the founder of the Qadiriyya order of Sufism, which has spread throughout the world. His works, including 'Al-Ghunya Li-Talibi Tariq Al-Haqq' (Sufficient Provision for Seekers of the Path of Truth) and 'Jala’Al-Khawatir' (The Removal of Cares), are foundational texts of the order.
