Satya Vrat Shastri (1930–2021) was an eminent Indian Sanskrit scholar, poet, and academic, celebrated for his creative works in Sanskrit and his profound studies of classical literature. A former Professor of Sanskrit at the University of Delhi, he received numerous prestigious awards, including the Sahitya Akademi Award (1968), the Padma Bhushan (1199), and was the first Sanskrit recipient of the Jnanpith Award (2006).
