Sanjukta Dasgupta and Chinmoy Guha

Sanjukta Dasgupta is Professor Emerita and former Head of the Department of English and Dean of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Calcutta; a poet, critic, and translator, she received the WE Kamala Das Poetry Award in 2020. Chinmoy Guha is Professor Emeritus and former Head of the Department of English at the same university, a scholar of French and Bengali literature, recipient of the Sahitya Akademi Award in 2019, and a recipient of French government honours. Together they edited Breaking the Silence, a collection of papers arising from an international conference held at the Women's Studies Research Centre, University of Calcutta, in January 2009, examining the feminist thought and writing of Virginia Woolf, Simone de Beauvoir, and Ashapurna Devi.
