Salim Mansur is professor emeritus of political science at the University of Western Ontario, Canada, where he taught in the faculty of social sciences. Born in Calcutta, he received his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto. A self-described dissident Muslim, he has written widely on Islam, multiculturalism, and geopolitics, including a syndicated column for the Toronto Sun. Islam's Predicament: Perspectives of a Dissident Muslim gathers his key essays critiquing Islamism and political Islam from a liberal standpoint.
