Rita Kothari led the communications area at the Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad, and writes as a columnist; Rupert Snell directed the Hindi Urdu Flagship intensive study programme at the University of Texas, Austin. Together they edited Chutnefying English: The Phenomenon of Hinglish, published by Penguin Books India — a collection of essays by leading scholars from literature, cultural studies, translation, cinema, and new media that addresses the legitimacy and spread of Hinglish in Indian life.
