Rasik Vihari Joshi (1927–2019) was an acclaimed Indian Sanskrit scholar, professor, and polyglot with expertise in ten languages, including Sanskrit, Greek, Latin, Spanish, and French. He was a professor of Sanskrit and Comparative Literature at El Colegio de México in Mexico City, where the university waived retirement rules for him. Over his seventy-year career, Joshi authored fifteen Sanskrit epics, including 'Pradnya Parijatam' and 'Sri Radha Panchashati', for which he received the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1995. He also published over 38 books and hundreds of articles in various languages across the USA, Europe, and India. His work, भागवतदर्शनम् (Bhagavata Darsanam), published by Chaukhamba Sanskrit Pratishthan, explores the philosophy of the Bhagavata.
