Rani Laxmi Kumari Chundawat

Rani Lakshmi Kumari Chundawat (24 June 1916 – 24 May 2014) was a writer, scholar, and politician who championed the recognition of the Rajasthani language. Honoured with the Padma Shri in 1984 for her contributions to Rajasthani literature, she wrote in Hindi and Rajasthani on folklore, romance, and cultural tradition. Her book Love Stories of Rajasthan draws on the region's feudal-era narratives of love, courage, and sacrifice. She served as a member of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly and later of the Rajya Sabha.
