Ramesh V. Dhongde

Ramesh V. Dhongde retired as Professor of Marathi Linguistics at Deccan College, Pune, where he was also involved in the Sanskrit Encyclopaedic Dictionary project and served as Chairman of the English Language Committee of the Maharashtra State Textbooks Bureau. He has won State awards for his books on Marathi stylistics and co-authored a linguistic grammar of Marathi in English. The Oxford English–Marathi Dictionary, published by Oxford University Press, provides pronunciation, grammar notes, and meanings in Marathi for over 26,000 words and phrases.
