Romesh Chunder Dutt (1848–1909) was a distinguished Indian civil servant, economic historian, and author. A prominent proponent of Indian economic nationalism, he is renowned for his historical and literary contributions, including his analysis of the economic impact of British rule. He was also a prolific writer in Bengali and English, translating major Sanskrit epics like the Ramayana and Mahabharata. Romesh Chunder Dutt, along with Srinath, is the author of প্রাচীন ভারতবর্ষের সভ্যতার ইতিহাস: History of Civilization of Ancient India - Part-I (Bengali).
