Ram Vilas Sharma

Ram Vilas Sharma (1912–2000) was an eminent progressive literary critic, linguist, poet, and thinker in Hindi literature. Born in Unchgaon Sani, Uttar Pradesh, he held M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in English Literature from Lucknow University and served as the head of the English department at Balwant Rajput College, Agra, and later as Director of KM Hindi Institute. Sharma authored over 50 books, analyzing linguistic and literary issues from a Marxist viewpoint, and was a recipient of prestigious awards including the Sahitya Akademi Award (1970) and the first Vyas Samman (1991). In "आर्य और द्रविड़ भाषा परिवारों का सम्बन्ध: Relation Between Aryan and Dravidian Language (An Old and Rare Book)," he examines the historical and linguistic connections between the Aryan and Dravidian language families.
