Rajeev Bhargava, Senior Fellow and Director at the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies, Delhi, taught political theory at Jawaharlal Nehru University and began his career at St Stephen's College after completing his MPhil and DPhil at Oxford. Secularism and Its Critics, which he edited for Oxford University Press in 1998, was the first major anthology on secularism to spark wide international academic interest — bringing together leading contemporary writings on the relevance of secular thought to non-Western societies and the question of minority rights.
