R. Chudamani

R. Chudamani (1931–2010), born Raghavan Chudamani, was a prolific Indian writer who penned over 500 short stories and several novellas in Tamil, also publishing short stories in English as Chudamani Raghavan. Recognized as an early feminist Tamil writer, her works subtly challenge societal norms and explore a range of human experiences, from psychological and existential issues to socio-economic concerns, often with an empathetic insight into middle-class life. Her collections include The Solitary Sprout: Selected Stories of R. Chudamani and தனிமைத் தளிர்: தேர்ந்தெடுத்த சிறுகதைகள் (Tanimait Talir: Selected Short Stories).
