Priyabala Shah (b. 1920) was a renowned art historian and scholar of Sanskrit literature, specializing in Indian iconography and Puranic studies. She is best known for her extensive work on the Viṣṇudharmottara Purāṇa, a comprehensive encyclopedic text. Her critical edition and translation, particularly of the third khanda which includes the famous Citrasūtra, are considered seminal contributions to the study of ancient Indian arts.
