Pratibha Ray

Pratibha Ray is an eminent Indian academic and writer of Odia literature. Her novels and short stories often explore themes of social justice, equality, and psychological depth, frequently reinterpreting mythological narratives from a modern perspective. For her contributions to Indian literature, she was awarded the Moortidevi Award in 1991 for her novel 'Yajnaseni', and the Jnanpith Award, India's highest literary honor, in 2011. The book याज्ञसेनी (Yajnaseni) is a Sanskrit translation of her celebrated novel based on the life of Draupadi.
